Atkins Search have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of the UK’s leading construction main contractors, to join their growing Commercial team in the East Midlands. Based out of the Nottingham office, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale projects ranging from £20M to £60M across various sectors.

Role

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple large projects, supported by a team of Assistant and Quantity Surveyors.

This role involves the commercial oversight of high-value, complex schemes from start to finish, ensuring cost control and contractual compliance. Experience in managing similar-sized projects for principal contractors is essential.

You will also be involved in the two-stage tender process for schemes, allowing you to take ownership of projects from cradle to grave.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and present monthly project reports to senior management
  • Involvement in two-stage tender process
  • Update project costs regularly and assist with forecasting
  • Provide commercial and contractual expertise across projects
  • Support the junior members of the Commercial team
  • Lead procurement strategies and manage subcontractor agreements

Person

  • Proven experience working with NEC and JCT contracts
  • Experience managing two-stage tender process
  • Experience delivering major D&B projects
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Experience across a variety of sectors and large-scale projects
  • Well-established relationships with subcontractors
  • Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build strong client and consultant relationships
