employed by a Manchester based Construction Consultancy, you will have the option to work across a variety of sectors.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity
Surveyor
job based in
Manchester, you will be required to carry out a variety of general day-to-day
responsibilities with the expectation to broaden out your skill set and knowledge as you grow with the construction consultancy.

Your duties will include (but not limited to):

  • Managing a multi-disciplined team consisting of Cost and Project Managers
  • Providing advice on procurement strategy, risk management, value engineering and the overall tendering process
  • Provide advice on contract arrangements
  • Prepare tender documents
  • Advising clients on tenders when received, including undertaking a full tender evaluation
  • Prepare contract documentation
  • Completing valuations
  • Change monitoring
  • Variations
  • Budget management
  • Negotiating final accounts
  • Working closely with the Team and mentoring / working with graduates
  • Developing existing Client contacts and relationships
  • Developing new Client contacts and relationships
  • Assisting with business development where necessary

Person

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor
based in Manchester must be able to portray the following:

  • Construction related degree (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a Consultancy setting
  • Chartered status
    (or working towards)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop, build and maintain strong relationships
