Atkins Search have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Contracts Manager to join the of the UK’s leading Tier 1 construction main contractors based in Nottingham.

As this business continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Manager to take the lead in managing and delivering a diverse range of high-profile projects.

Role

As a Senior Contracts Manager, you will oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will play a pivotal role in the planning, execution, and delivery of projects while leading and mentoring project teams to achieve outstanding results.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Develop and implement project plans, including design, procurement, construction, and handover phases.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring collaboration and high performance across all stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee contract compliance, including adherence to JCT and NEC frameworks.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and site teams, fostering professional growth and development.

Person

We are looking for an experienced and driven professional with a strong background in quantity surveying and commercial leadership. Key attributes include:

  • Tier 1 main contracting experience with major new build schemes
  • Relevant experience within high value construction projects at Managing
    level
  • Significant experience in managing multiple major construction projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, or commercial
  • Extensive knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to managing risks and overcoming challenges.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, project management, or a related discipline.
