Retail Construction Lead

Our client is seeking a skilled ‘Retail Construction Lead’ to oversee and deliver high-quality retail projects, ensuring excellence in execution, collaboration, and client satisfaction.

As the Retail Construction Lead, you will be at the forefront of projects, managing the design, construction, and delivery of retail projects, from new store builds to renovations and fit-outs. This role demands hands-on leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams, external contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Operating within a fast-paced environment, overseeing and managing projects whilst supporting and growing a multi-disciplined team, you will also be responsible for…

• Reporting directly into the Regional Director, providing regular updates and maintaining tight communication
• Managing and develop an in house multi-disciplined team
• Lead end-to-end retail construction projects, including planning, design, and execution phases.
• Manage budgets, timelines, and quality control for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Collaborate with internal teams (design, operations, procurement) and external vendors to align construction plans with company objectives.
• Conduct site visits, ensuring health and safety compliance and troubleshooting on-site challenges.
• Contract negotiation
• Drive process improvements and innovation to enhance project delivery efficiency.

To be successful for the Retail Construction Lead opportunity, the ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience in retail construction, project management/quantity Surveying or a similar leadership role.
• Retail market awareness, with the potential to develop the sector using personal connections
• Strong technical knowledge of construction processes, materials, and retail fitouts.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
