Atkins Search are currently recruiting for an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a market leading, award-winning Construction Consultancy based in Nottingham City Centre.

You will have the opportunity to work on exiting schemes across the East Midlands with exposure to a variety of sectors such as commercial, heritage, defence, residential, infrastructure, retail, healthcare, governmental, energy etc.

As M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing a varied workload, client facing meetings, collaborating with multi disciplined teams on end-to-end project delivery. This role will suit an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor based in Nottingham, or the wider East Midlands, who had experience working on a variety of projects within the built environment.

As M&E Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

• Delivering high quality services and ensuring that cost management deliverables meet Customers’ requirements.
• Managing projects and to deliver high quality services and deliverables in accordance with the business procedures.
• Preparing and presenting order of cost estimates and option studies.
• Cost planning.
• Advising on and implementing procurement strategies.
• Preparing tender documentation and managing the tender process. including designing tender marking schemes
• Evaluating and reporting on tenders.
• Valuing completed work and arranging for payments.
• Settling final accounts.
• Administrating contracts as Contract Administrator or Employer’s Agent.

The successful candidate for this M&E Quantity Surveyor role will have:

• Hold a Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management BSc degree (or equivalent)
• MRICS (Ideal, not essential)
• Have a proven track record of a Mechanical, Electrical and/or Plumbing specialism
• Sound cost management experience post MRICS qualification.
• Sound knowledge and practical experience of cost estimating and planning.
• Good knowledge of construction methods and materials.
• Working knowledge of construction procurement strategies, including tendering and contract strategies.
• Good knowledge and experience of post-contract cost management tasks
• Clear and effective communication skills - both oral and written
• Methodical way of thinking and approach to work
• Good organisational skills and the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments.
• Excellent problem, negotiating, finance and numeracy management skills
• Ability to absorb complex information and assess requirements readily
• Clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts
• Ability to work as part of a team
