Atkins Search have a brand-new opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join an inclusive, collaborative and multidisciplinary Construction Consultancy based in Nottingham.

ROLE

Our esteemed client is seeking a motivated, and experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their H&S / CDM team in the Nottingham Head Office.

The ideal candidate will conduct Health and Safety audits and inspections on site, conducting risk assessments, monitoring and reporting. You will also have sound knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and the Building Regulations 2023 and be willing to deliver the new Building Regulations Principal Designer service to clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for:

  • Delivering CDM Consultancy for their varied clients to support them in delivering their duties – this could be as PD and/or CDMA or wider.
  • Overseeing construction project / programme H&S – which could, for example, be as Site H&S Advisor or setting the project H&S Strategy, Policies and Processes.
  • Carrying out H&S performance / management diagnostic ‘gap analysis’ reviews, audits, etc., for clients (e.g. of their own operations or their projects or their supplier activities).
  • Developing Client H&S continual improvement programmes & overseeing their effective delivery.
  • Establishing positive relations with existing clients to gain their confidence and become the focal point for communication.
  • Representing our client in a professional and diligent manner (both personally and technically) including meeting, negotiating and corresponding appropriately with their clients’ management teams.
  • Undertake duties as required in identifying and delivering new opportunities and business in the region.
  • Liaise, proactively and professionally, with SHQ, our client, and colleagues to contribute to team effectiveness, support others as needed and ensure consistency, quality and profitability of shared projects.
  • Maintaining and developing personnel competence to meet the demands of both the business and clients.
