Freelance Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of our clients, a successful Civil Engineering and Construction Contractor based in the East Midlands.

With extensive experience in the industry, our client is a well-established Civil Engineering and construction contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors in the UK. Their expertise spans across commercial, industrial, residential, highways, and infrastructure projects, with a strong focus on sustainability and innovation.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role within the commercial team, supporting junior team members and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Cost management and contractual control of live projects.
• Managing subcontract accounts, procurement, and final accounts.
• Working with site teams to assess contract risk and manage mitigation plans.
• Assessing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements.
• Supporting and mentoring Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
• Applying strong contractual knowledge, particularly with NEC and JCT contracts.

• Strong and effective communicator at all levels.
• Experience across a range of sectors and project types.
• Ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Knowledge of civil engineering and construction best practices.
