Role
As a Fire Risk Assessor part of a Nottingham based Construction Consultancy, you will become integral to a growing team, and have the freedom and support to broaden your skillset.
Responsibilities for the Fire Risk Assessor will include:
- Conduct fire risk assessments in line with current fire safety legislation and provide accurate guidance and support to clients.
- Ensure buildings conform to the latest fire related building regulations and technical standards.
- Provide a practical and methodical approach to solving problems, working to fixed budgets and working within tight deadlines
- Maintain knowledge and skills in fire safety legislation and requirements.
- Prepare detailed and accurate reports outlining findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure assessments are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Manage calendars effectively to schedule appointments and assessments.
- Maintain a clean driving licence and adhere to company policies while driving.
- Be willing to travel UK wide to complete assessments and training.
- Undertake regular communication with the Client’s team to co-ordinate programmes of inspections and remedial works
- Provide advice internally to team of surveyors and architects relating to building safety.
Person
The successful candidate will need to be fully conversant with current fire safety legislation including the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order and technical standards as well as a full understanding of current fire safety issues, trends and best practice.
You will also have:
- Minimum Level 4 qualification in fire risk management, or a Level 5 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire engineering.
- Approved fire risk assessment course completion.
- Registered on the national register of Fire Risk Assessors, either via IFE, FRACS or IFSM (the latter of which will require minimum registration on Tier 3 of the IFSM register)
- At least 5 years of experience completing fire risk assessments in a range of premises
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Excellent calendar management and organisational skills.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Demonstrable experience gained in a similar role
- Clean driving licence required.
