We are seeking an experienced Clerk of Works to oversee construction projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to contractual specifications. You will act as an independent inspector working alongside the Health & Safety Manager, liaising between contractors, clients, and design teams to ensure works meet the highest standards.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets specifications, standards, and regulations
• Identify defects, report non-compliance issues, and ensure corrective actions are taken
• Monitor progress against project timelines and report delays or potential risks
• Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed on-site
• Keep detailed records of site visits, issues, and resolutions
• Check that materials and workmanship align with design specifications
• Attend site meetings and provide technical advice to stakeholders
• Liaise with contractors, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth project delivery
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, planning permissions, and contract requirements

• Proven experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector, or similar role
• Strong knowledge of building regulations, health and safety requirements, and quality standards
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify construction defects
• Strong communication and report-writing skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with stakeholders
• IT proficiency (Microsoft Office, report writing tools)
• Full UK driving licence (if travel is required)
• Membership of the Institute of Clerk of Works (ICWCI) or equivalent
• A relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or surveying (HNC/HND/Degree)
• Experience in specific sectors such as residential, commercial, or public infrastructure projects
