Clerk of Works

Atkins Search are currently working in partnership with a leading construction consultancy who are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Clerk of Works to join their team based in within their Wakefield office. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse and exciting projects, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in construction delivery.

*please note that this role will be predominantly site based across Yorkshire and the North with limited requirement to be in the office*

They rely on us to uphold quality, safety, and efficiency across their construction projects, and the Clerk of Works will play a vital role in delivering this assurance.

As the Clerk of Works, you will be responsible for:

• Overseeing on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality, workmanship, and safety.
• Liaise with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare detailed reports, documenting progress and identifying areas of concern.
• Ensure materials and workmanship meet the required standards.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical advice as needed.

For the role of Clerk of Works, the ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Hold a relevant qualification in construction or a related field (e.g., NEC Supervisor, CIOB or ICWCI membership).
• Have proven experience as a Clerk of Works or in a similar quality assurance role.
• Possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach.
• Be well-versed in construction practices, health and safety regulations, and building codes.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
