Atkins Search are currently recruiting for an MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor to join a specialist, professional, team focused Construction Consultancy based in Reigate.
Client
A well-established, award-winning, multi-sector Construction Consultancy based in Reigate who pride themselves on offering an abundance of experience across a variety of construction sectors including healthcare, industrial & manufacturing, residential, conservation and commercial.
As an independent, private multi-disciplined Consultancy, my client are recognised for their quality and expertise within the construction, legal and professional industries.
Role
As a Chartered Building Surveyor you will be responsible for the following:
- Advise on the design, construction, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of all types of buildings and sites.
- Inspections to involve acquisition surveys, condition reports, measured surveys and defect investigations
- Prepare reports, schedule of works and works specifications
- Design and oversee works using recognised building contracts and to current technical standards.
- Undertake large value projects independently with sound knowledge on all aspects of professional consultancy services.
- Understand and apply other relevant legislation such as health and safety, party wall, building regulations and planning.
- Provide supervision and support to APC candidates to promote knowledge and understanding.
- At all times to comply with the requirements of the Company’s administrative, personnel procedures and Health & Safety regulations
Person
As a Chartered Building Surveyor employed by a nationally recognised Consultancy, you must be able to demonstrate the following attributes:
- Have a positive “can-do” attitude
- The successful candidate must be accredited by MRICS
- Have extensive experience and working knowledge of consulting engineering, surveying, architectural & planning practices and procedures
- To confidently diagnose defects and conduct report writing
- Have experience in insurance repair projects (preferred)
- Experience in negotiation, supervisory and leadership roles
- Experience in working to deadlines and within budgets on large scale projects
- Experience and understanding of CDM Regs 2015, Party Wall and Building Regulation legislation
- Sound mathematical, scientific and IT skills and the ability to think methodically to problem solve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible and Variable Attitude to work type
