Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a successful and dynamic construction main contractor based in Nottingham.

Our client is a thriving construction company with over a decade of success, and ambitious plans for the future. With a solid team of talented individuals, they specialise in delivering high-quality care and commercial projects across both the private and public sector.

This is an exciting time to join as they position themselves as a leading regional building contractor with plans for three specialised divisions in the future.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a vital role in the Commercial team, working closely with the Senior Commercial Team to support the successful delivery of projects. The current focus is predominantly across the care sector, with upcoming projects across the Midlands and North and a continued attention on delivery projects locally.

• Process invoices/applications for payments
• Support Commercial department as and when required
• Receive tenders and assist with the analysis sheet for each trade
• Assist with the compiling of tender packages for sub-contract trades
• Assist with the issuing of sub-contract orders
• Attend site, client and team meetings

We are looking for a well-rounded, ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who thrives in a collaborative team environment. You’ll have a genuine interest in developing your skills and supporting the growth of the business.

• A proactive approach and willingness to grow with the business
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• A team-oriented mindset
• The ability to balance technical expertise with a practical understanding of site delivery
• Experience in the care and commercial sector
• Minimum circa 3-5 years’ experience working with a main contractor
• Design and build experience with both JCT and NEC (NEC not essential)
• Preferred project value of projects £2-£10 million
