Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor vacancy to join a reputable construction main contractor based in Nottingham.

Our client is a leading construction main contractor, operating across the region to deliver varied and dynamic projects across the education, healthcare, commercial and industrial sectors across the public and private sectors, with values between £1m to £30m.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as part of a forward-thinking commercial team to support the delivery of various projects across the region.

Working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors, your job will be to support in the delivery of projects in a cost-effective, quality focused manor.

• Run pre-lets for subcontractors
• Process invoices/applications for payments
• Support Commercial department as and when required
• Receive tenders and assist with the analysis sheet for each trade
• Assist with the compiling of tender packages for sub-contract trades
• Assist with the issuing of sub-contract orders
• Attend site, client and team meetings

The ideal candidate for the Assistant Quantity Surveyor job will have a proven track record as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in a construction main contracting environment. You will also need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to work as part of a team.

• Quantity Surveying degree/qualification
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• JCT contract experience, NEC4 contract experience (desirable but not essential)
• Relevant Quantity Surveying experience working for a main contractor on similar projects
• Ambitious, career driven attitude
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
