Assistant Project Manager


Overview

An exciting role for an Assistant Project Manager to join an established engineering consultancy at either their Lincoln or Peterborough office.

Client

A large engineering consultancy that covers a broad range of sectors, including nuclear and energy, rail and infrastructure, buildings and developments and logistics.

The successful candidate would need to reliably commute to either the Lincoln or Peterborough office.

Role

Due to continued impressive growth, an Assistant Project Manager/Coordinator is required to assist with managing the design process for a wide variety of exciting highway, railway, bridge and buildings projects from planning application through to project completion.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling the design process, from planning application through to project completion.
  • Assisting in managing design team workloads and the planning of work packages.
  • Managing the design scope, quality and project timelines to achieve project milestones.
  • Setting up and managing drawing issue registers and work package submissions.
  • Tracking project deliverables against the design programme/schedules Inputting into the maintenance of design programmes/schedules.
  • Ensuring design teams prepare work packages in accordance with Employers Requirements Quality control and ensuring compliance with ISO accreditation to maintain business credentials.
  • Defining project scope and assisting in the production of tender documentation

Person

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Experience of working in similar multi-disciplinary engineering project team.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/Level 4 or higher).
  • A broad range of engineering understanding.
  • Understanding of project phases from “Project Definition” to “Project Handover”.
  • Understanding of health & safety and CDM regulations.
  • Engineering / construction industry experience.
  • Ability to organise, plan, programme and manage workloads.
  • Commercial awareness of project change.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Primavera P6 experience desired but not essential.
  • NEC Contract experience desired but not essential
