January often brings a post-holiday slump, dark mornings, and the pressure of new resolutions, making personal well-being easy to overlook. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of deadlines, meetings, and responsibilities—often putting personal well-being last. To combat this, Atkins Search launched the Personal Well-being Month Challenge, encouraging the team to focus on their mental, emotional, and physical health through weekly challenges.

Prioritising Well-being at Work
Well-being isn’t just important—it’s essential! 💡💙 At Atkins Search, we understand that a happy, balanced team is a productive one, a happy workplace shows 21% greater profitability. Each week, our team took on a new challenge designed to foster self-care and mindfulness. Every Thursday afternoon, we dedicated time and space to reflect on these challenges, sharing what we had learned and how it made us feel.
The Personal Development and Well-being Challenge: Small Steps, Big Impact
Each challenge correlated to the 6 pillars of Personal Development: Affirmations, Visualisations, Scribing, Exercise, Listening and Reading. This was designed to inspire self-reflection, gratitude, and positivity. Here’s some examples of what we focused on:
✔ Affirmation – Writing 10 things we love about ourselves ❤️️ to boost self-esteem and self-acceptance.
✔Exercise– Taking time to be present through guided meditation 🧘♀️, helping reduce stress and improve focus.
✔ Reading – Reading something from a different point of view 📖, encouraging open-mindedness and empathy.
✔ Scribing – Writing a letter to your future self✍️, cultivating a sense of motivation to inspire you to achieve long-term goals and think positively about your future.
✔ Visualisation – Creating an inspiring vision board 😍 to visualise our goals, dreams, and aspirations.
✔ Listening– Have a conversation and find something new 👂 to listen to a different perspective and learn something new.
Every challenge encouraged the team to prioritise self-care and support one another 🤝, reinforcing the importance of well-being both inside and outside the workplace.
