Atkins Search are celebrating Nicole’s 2 year anniversary!
Nicole joined Atkins Search in January 2022 to work within our permanent division, specialising in placing Construction professionals into reputable Main Contractors, Consultancies and Residential Developers across the East Midlands, West Midlands and South Yorkshire.
We asked Nicole for her thoughts on the last 2 years working with Atkins Search, here’s what she had to say:
“2 years already!? It’s hard to believe it’s only been two years with the Atkins Search team, it feels like I’ve always been here! Although it was technically a job change, it really didn’t feel that way, I’ve been very lucky to team up with some old colleagues from my previous employment, which made me feel welcome and part of the crew instantly.
I joined ASL in January 2022 as employee number 6 and feel extremely lucky to have witnessed the amazing things we have achieved during the time I’ve been here. With endless support, guidance, training, and mentorship, I feel like my career has skyrocketed since joining ASL and in turn, I’ve evolved into someone who is almost unrecognisable. Not only do I feel that I’ve developed as a Consultant, but ASL has really helped me to develop as a person.
I’ve specialised in residential recruitment for years now, and when the market declined, I was left with nothing but anxiety and worry regarding my own desk. The senior leadership team rallied round me, supported me, and helped me through one of the toughest periods I’ve ever experienced as a Recruiter. Typically, that kind of support, I mean genuine support, doesn’t exist so often in the world of recruitment. I’ve always been made to feel safe, important, and heard – again, something that doesn’t exist as often as it should in the workplace.
I’ve got to big up the team whilst I’m on it, they’re a bunch of absolute legends. Nobody is the same, we all have our individual quirks, have different personalities, and we’re all from different walks of life, but somehow, we get on like a house on fire. We’ve got kid parents, we’ve got dog parents, we’ve got football rivalries, we’ve got Battle of the Barries, we’ve also got a plant called Barry, we play Badminton, we play Darts, we climb mountains, we do charity work and we go for monthly walks around the country park – just to mix things up. ASL is a lifestyle, a chance at a worth-while career, a place to develop who you are as a professional and a human being. You don’t have to be anything but yourself here, we only ask for attitude, effort, and a personality – we’ll take care of the rest.
My experience with ASL has well and truly surpassed all my expectations; the working environment is unlike anything I’ve ever known, the opportunities are endless, the team we have align with the values we sat down and created together, I’ve been given control of my own destiny and am always supported to be the best I can be. Monday morning is never a chore, the energy is electric, the banter is brilliant, and we’re a proper team who are in it together.”
Congratulations on your 2nd anniversary Nicole, here’s to many, many more!
