It’s been a while since we posted any updates on Atkins James but to say we have been busy is an understatement – I guess work got in the way of us talking about work, which is a good thing!
So where do we start, consistent growth in Q1 of 2018 / 2019 has built to a record quarter in Q2, which is absolutely fantastic news. I can’t thank the team enough for their continued efforts.
Our client base continues to grow as it appears that word is getting out that we “do a good job”. The approach of treating our clients and candidates with the same respect seems to work for us. There still seems to be quite a lot of – chucking CV’s out quickly to see
what sticks – in the industry but we will continue to work against this as I don’t believe it benefits all parties involved.
Recent placements we have made include Bid Manager, Senior Design Manager, Design Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor, Quantity Surveyor, Estimator, Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Senior Site Manager, Site Manager, Marketing Manager, Bid Coordinator, Site Engineer and Head of Frameworks.
Locally, the construction industry in the East Midlands continues to be very busy, with one very, very large project (no prizes for guessing) appearing to sweep up volumes of construction professionals. This continues to put a strain on resources for our regional client base as salaries increase, candidate availability decreases and staff retention becomes more difficult.
Student Accommodation still appears to be big business in the region with quite a few contractors looking at the residential market as a way to develop their businesses. Generally the regional market is still very buoyant as Brexit hasn’t quite given us a cold up here yet and long may that continue.
As we go in to the run up to Christmas demand will increase for Projects Managers, Senior Site Managers, Site Managers as new projects start on site so this will start to become a focus over the next few months on both a freelance and permanent basis.
As our Q2 draws to a close as guess its “half time” for Atkins James or the 2018/ 19 season. With my Managers hat on I would say we have started the new season well and made some really positive in roads with our current clients whilst developing some new positive relationships. Second half is all to play for so watch this space.
On a final note, a quick thank you to all our current clients as we really value our working relationship. I’m fully aware we are “only as good as our last placement” and we will continue to do things the right way. Also, we look forward to seeing you all at the EMPD at the end of the month.
